ICTM Executive Board Student Director
Call for Nominations
Each calendar year (January 1 - December 31), ICTM appoints a Student Director to its Executive Board. Eligible students must be able to help organize, advertise and attend the Future Teacher Workshop in October. Typically, students who are in their second or third year are nominated for this position.
Details of the Position
The Student Director
Is an undergraduate student at an Iowa college or university and has an interest in mathematics education
Represents Iowa college and university students that have an interest in mathematics education.
Attends and participates in three Board meetings and the Future Teacher Workshop (a Sunday in October).
Emails and/or uses social media to promote ICTM events and conferences, such as
Iowa Council of Teachers of Mathematics
Promotes ICTM membership and involvement in ICTM activities.
Writes or solicits articles for official ICTM communications.
Serves on the Future Teacher Workshop (FTW) Subcommittee of the Conference Committee and assists in organizing the FTW.
Creates the promotional flyer for the FTW
Communicates with and distributes the flyer to professors and department chairs at Iowa's colleges
Assists the FTW Committee in helping the FTW run smoothly (e.g. set-up, handling supplies, tear-down, etc.)
If possible, assists at the ICTM Conference the following day as needed.
