There are two different "Algebra 2's" in the model pathways. The "Algebra 2" in Pathways 1 & 2 only has the required standards for all students and spends most of the instructional time on the Major clusters. Major clusters are identified as major with green highlighting in the standards document. In contrast, "Algebra 2 in Pathways 3 " has the required and "extra" standards. Pathways 1 & 2 have roughly 52 standards less than Pathways 3. This allows instructional time to be spent on the content that matters the most when clearing post-secondary barriers. Are you wondering what SCED Codes to use? Check out the Model Pathways SCED Codes for which code to use.To learn more about implementing the Iowa Academic Standards of Mathematics, check out the 2024 Iowa Academic Standards for Mathematics Implementation Resources Guidebook.
