Using Coaching to Strengthen Mathematics Instruction!
The Iowa Affiliate of the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics (IA-NCSM) is a great way for all Iowa math teacher leaders, instructional coaches, district specialists or administrators to connect with other job-alikes and discuss best practices in mathematics at the state and national level.
Join IA-NCSM on November 15 from 4:15-5:00 PM for the first of six discussions "Using Mathematics Coaching to Strengthen Mathematics Instruction." A calendar invite with Zoom link will be sent to those who have signed up.
Future virtual discussions will be on December 13, January 17, February 21, March 20 and April 17. These will not be recorded but the slide-decks will be made available.

Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)

Nominations are now open for the 2023-2024 cycle. Nominate an outstanding mathematics K-6 teacher before January 8, 2024. Self-nominations are accepted. Applications must be completed by February 6, 2024. Check out previous Iowa awardees. State finalists will be honored at the Iowa Council Teachers of Mathematics Conference with complimentary registration. State awardees receive $10,000 and a trip to Washington D.C.
