An
Invitation to Share . . .
Part
of our growth in teaching is due to the willingness of individuals to share
their experiences of teaching and learning with us. This is an invitation to share some of your teaching
experiences through an article in the ICTM Journal.
The article can be as short as a page or as long as 12 pages; it could
include student work or photographs from your classroom.

One
of the goals for the ICTM Journal is
to feature work that is taking place in Iowa classrooms. But we need your help -
compose an article:
·
By
writing up the presentation that you or others shared at a conference or at an
in-service meeting,
·
By
writing up one of your favorite lessons,
·
By
describing a classroom event when your students really understood a particular mathematical topic,
·
By
sharing some of the teaching strategies that you use to promote or evaluate
learning,
·
By
describing student reasoning about a particular topic such as fractions,
percent, measurement, etc. ,
· By describing a mathematics lesson that was based on a children's book,
· By describing how technology was used to explore or enhance a particular topic,
·
By
providing a good problem solving situation,
·
By
working with a colleague to write up your experiences in implementing curriculum
reform,
·
By
describing how you build better communication with parents or the community,
·

Manuscripts
must be typewritten and double-spaced. Font should be Times size 12 with 1”
margins. Use size 14 bold for titles. All
figures such as diagrams, tables, or photographs should be ready for photocopy
reproduction. Manuscripts,
preferably Microsoft Word, may be submitted on disk or attached to an email.
